The major problems arising from the growth of energy consumption and the subsequent "emergency" to environment-related emissions of greenhouse gases, are continuously pushing to find new solutions and new technologies for the production of primary energy use to meet the pressing and growing energy demands.
Among renewable sources, is one of the most popular technology to
generate electrical power
by converting solar radiation into direct current electricity using
semiconductors that exhibit the photovoltaic effect, that is the creation
of a voltage (or a corresponding electric current) in a material upon
exposure to light. Photovoltaic plants produce electricity and, at
the same time, they help to reduce air pollution, to save fossil fuels,
the elimination of pollution from physical agents and the protection
of the environment through the establishment of projects consistent
with the architectural and environmental protection requirements.
Norman Research has developed the service of design of photovoltaic
plants, in order to promote energy consumption reduction
and help the growth of more "sustainable" and modern technology, for
the benefit of the environment and the whole community of a specified
geographical area.
Activity includes:
1) Collect information and "in-situ" measurements;
2) Elaboration of technical / economical feasibility of photovoltaic
plants to be installed;
3) Development of a contract for a pilot intervention on the area;
4) Implementation of a WEB-GIS database of planned operations.
Below are the most significant experiences already carried out.
